Current Board of Trustees
Laura Page joined the board in 2009 and currently serves as President. She is retired from owning and operating a four-office real estate company in Connecticut for thirty years. Laura was named Small Business Person of the Year by the Connecticut Small Business Administration in 1989 and was President of the Shoreline Board of Realtors, serving on its board of directors for many years. She served on the Guilford Youth Mentoring Steering Committee and was an active member of its Recruitment Committee. As President for the Guilford Center for Children, she was instrumental in launching its after school program. Laura also served on five boards including Guilford’s Housing Partnership, Human Services Council and as President of the Library Board. Laura attended Wheaton College. She is a resident of West Windsor, Vermont where she resides with her husband, Richard Beatty.
Sarah Carter joined the board in 1998 and currently serves as Vice President. She is the principal of Hartford, Vermont’s Dothan Brook Elementary School and previously worked as the director of curriculum, instruction and assessment for the Springfield School District. In addition to mentoring youth and establishing after-school and summer programs, she worked many years at the Community College of Vermont. Sarah has served on several boards, including the Upper Valley Community Foundation and the Springfield Community Partnership. After earning her Bachelor’s degree from Wheelock College in Boston, she received her Master’s in Administration at St. Michael’s College in Burlington, Vermont, and her Doctorate in Education at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. A resident of Windsor, Sarah serves as a Justice of the Peace.
Bruce Sahler joined the board in 2009 and currently serves as Secretary. He is retired after spending 40 years in the insurance industry. A majority of his time was spent in the human resources field. He retired as director of human resources and corporate services from Everest Reinsurance. Bruce has a B.S. in Business Administration from Lehigh University and an M.S. in Human Resources Management from Rutgers University. For 12 years while his two sons were growing up, Bruce coached soccer, basketball and baseball. More currently, Bruce has been a senior partner for 5 years. He is a resident of Brownsville, Vermont with his wife, Sandra.
Paul Regan joined the board in 2008. He is currently Creative Director and Principal in the firm of Regan & Associates and teaches at Colby Sawyer College. He has been an advertising professional in the New England area for over thirty-five years, during which time he received repeated recognition for his work with national and international clients. Paul has held the position of Creative Director at New England’s largest advertising agencies, overseeing both the creative output and management of their creative departments. Paul has taught at the Massachusetts College of Art, The Art Institute of Boston, Suffolk University (Sawyer School) and lectured at Simmons College and Boston University. He holds a B.F.A. from Massachusetts College of Art. He is a resident of South Woodstock, Vermont where he resides with his wife, Beverly.
Marty Hammond joined the board in 2010. She is currently the Executive Director of the Southern Vermont Area Health Education Center whose mission is to obtain, maintain, and retain the Primary Care Workforce in Southern Vermont. She was the Coordinator of the River Connection Regional Partnership and held several positions at the Springfield Area Parent Child Center. Marty was on the Springfield Center Board, is a co-chairperson of the Springfield Santa Claus Club and serves on the Community Advisory Board for the Springfield Justice Center. She holds a B.A. and M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from the University of Vermont. She lives in Springfield and has 3 adult daughters.
