Volunteer with WCP

WCP is always looking for dedicated, caring individuals who can donate their time to benefit our youth mentoring efforts. Since there are so many different ways to volunteer at WCP, one is sure to be right for you.

Become a Senior Partner

For many, becoming a Senior Partner mentor is a wonderful and gratifying opportunity to experience the fundamentals of one-on-one mentoring. Senior Partners interact directly with their young Junior Partner friends and witness the positive effects of mentoring first-hand.

Interested in becoming a Senior Partner? Whether you spend lunch time or a few hours during non-school time, there is a child who would enjoy and benefit from time with an adult, sharing ideas, activities and conversation. Learn more about how to Become a Mentor.

Become a Trustee

If time or other constraints prevent you from becoming  a Senior Partner, please consider volunteering with WCP in another capacity. An excellent option is becoming a member of the WCP Board of Trustees or one of its committees.

Board Members agree to a two- or three-year term. They help shape policy, guide the organization to reach its growth goals, fundraise and generally serve as ambassadors of WCP throughout the community. Committee members support the Board with topic-specific work, often of a more short-term nature, although some standing committees meet regularly throughout the year. These individuals need not serve on the Board, but should expect to attend monthly meetings and work independently to support other work of their committee.

Become a General Volunteer

Finally, some individuals may wish to volunteer only to serve in our office or to help with special events or activities such as fundraising. There are many volunteer opportunities. Throughout the year, WCP organizes events and seeks assistance with a variety of activities.

Can You Help with Special Projects?

WCP welcomes and appreciates inquiries of anyone looking to volunteer for limited special projects such as:

  • office tasks
  • hanging posters
  • assisting with stuffing our large, biannual mailings
  • general fundraising support

We are always looking for dedicated individuals to assist us. We are skilled at matching your specific talents and interests to a project or need of the organization.

We also welcome the possibility of hosting individuals for school or service projects for which you may receive credit.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with your unique volunteering ideas!
